- Home builders, development institute to support U of C's real estate program-Calgary Herald
CALGARY - The Canadian Home Builders’ Association and the Real Estate Development Institute is partnering to support the University of Calgary’s Certificate Program in Real Estate Development.
The program began in 2004. Since the program's inception, the Institute has sought the right industry partner to support the growing Continuing Education program at the university.
The program was created to support the continued growth and knowledge of the workforce within Calgary’s development sector.
The Certificate Program in Real Estate Development provides students with an understanding of principles and practices involved in real estate development and finance. Students gain in-depth knowledge in specific areas including finance, multi-family, commercial, industrial and recreational development. Programs are offered by instructors with practical knowledge and educational training specific to the needs of Calgary’s growing development industry.
“We feel this new relationship with the Canadian Home Builders’ Association is a natural fit,” said Jason Hardy, executive director of the Real Estate Development Institute. “The real estate industry in Alberta (and Calgary specifically) is rebounding and showing its resiliency amidst tough economic times. As the regional development industry continues to evolve, home builders and developers are constantly in search of new ways of meeting demand. Now is the prime opportunity for CHBA – Calgary Region members to invest in advancing the skills of their workforce talent.”
