A new survey says more than four out of five home buyers feel comfortable with their debt, but another hike in interest rates might get Canadians squirming next time they’re polled. Improved consumer confidence is helping push up housing prices in Calgary ahead of rising interest rates, a report by Royal LePage said Thursday. CALGARY - Housing starts in the Calgary census metropolitan area ballooned in March compared with year-ago levels. According to preliminary figures released today by Canada Mortgage and Housing Corp., total housing starts in the Calgary CMA reached 904 units in March, up from 297 units in the previous year.
